Jayasimha N. Murthy, MD, FCCP, DABSM
Dr. Jayasimha N. Murthy earned his MD from St. Johns National Academy of Health Sciences, India (1995), completed his Internal Medicine residency at Coney Island Hospital, NY, and fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.
As an Assistant Professor at The UT Houston Medical School, Dr. Murthy conducted NIH-funded research on interstitial lung diseases and pioneered non-contact sensing technology for sleep apnea, earning the Alfred Soffer Research Award from the American College of Chest Physicians.
Since joining PCCS in 2010, his practice focuses on treating asthma, COPD, sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, sarcoidosis, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary fibrosis. Dr Murthy is board certified in Pulmonary Disease, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
Outside medicine, he enjoys family time, playing piano and guitar, painting, and photography.
